"New EOS digital camera announced 

Canon has announced a new entry-level digital SLR - the EOS 350D. It has 
an 8-megapixel sensor, 3 fps shooting speed and a burst rate of 14 
frames (Large JPEG). 

The camera is a replacement for the EOS 300D, but many of its features 
are closer to the EOS 20D. It uses Canon's DIGIC II processor, which 
offers improved performance in many areas. And unlike the 300D, the new 
model offers user-selectable options for AF and metering in the creative 
zone modes. 

The UK suggested retail price of the EOS 350 (body only) is Ł749.99. The 
camera will also be available in kit form with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 
lens at Ł799.99, and with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 and EF-S 55-200mm 
f4-5.6 II lenses at Ł1029.99. Availability is expected to be April 2005.
