Bocs mindekitől az elöbbi levelem rettenetes (szintaktikai) hibáiért. :o(

De a bocsánatkérés mentén legalább jó apropó még egy linket megosztani. :o)

A Hyperion (Oracle által 3.3 milliárd dollárért idén márciusban megvett
piacilag jelentős cucc) valamint a Mondrian is mindkettőt támogatja (ha jól
láttam).

Mondjuk jó lenne tudni, hogy a cikket a Hyperion felvásárlása elött vagy
után írták, mármint érdekes lehet, hogy például az Oracle, hogyan akar/fog a
továbbiakban viszonyulni a kérdéshez. A cikkben ilyen mondatok vannak:

"JOLAP is a J2EE objected-oriented application programming interface (API)
designed specifically to addresses the programming needs of Java developers
by providing a standard set of object classes and methods for BI."

"XMLA (www.xmla.org ) is a linguistic interface with no preference for
programming language or object model. This linguistic interface is
implemented as a web services and also defines a standard query language
(mdXML) for BI. The role of mdXML for multidimensional database management
systems is similar to the role of the SQL language for relational database
management systems. It is a linguistic interface." -> Ez ugye az MS-vonal,
ha jól szedtem fel az infókat a lázas böngészésben.

"Hyperion views JOLAP and XMLA as complementary rather than competing
standards. Although you can implement XMLA without using JOLAP, the JOLAP
specification supports the web services architecture that depends on J2EE
application servers, XML, and SOAP messages."

"We believe XMLA will be the industry standard query language for BI. We
also believe that XMLA will have broader acceptance and implementation than
JOLAP because XMLA can be implemented across J2EE and .Net architectures as
well as across proprietary and open APIs. Again we firmly believe that JOLAP
and XMLA address different market needs and are complementary regardless of
ultimate market acceptance and implementation."
